Montolivo says Fiorentina can be surprise packet

Riccardo Montolivo says Fiorentina can be this season’s Serie A surprise packet.

The midfielder will captain the Viola for the new campaign.

Montolivo said: “I am confident about my contract renewal and I only want to focus on giving my contribution to the team, especially as captain.

“We know that the big four in Serie A are strong, but if they have a few problems then we can be there to take advantage.

“I will adapt to Mihajlovic’s tactics and want to do better than last season. In my view we have a more competitive squad compared to the past.”
